A Day In the Life of a Tyler Heating, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration LLC Tech

Want to know the best part about being an HVAC technician? It’s that no two days are ever completely alike. Sure, we might be maintaining multiple ductless mini-splits, or flushing a number of hot water heaters in any given week, but the clients and situations themselves are always unique. That being said, we’ve done our best to outline what a typical “day-in-the-life” might look like on any given work day. Here’s what we came up with:

Morning Duties

Tyler Tech reporting for duty! The first order of business each morning is to check out what booked jobs are on deck for the day. On any given day, a tech might have anywhere from one gigant HVAC installation job in a commercial unit, to up to five separate residential jobs throughout Fairfield and New Haven Counties. Remember, we always have to leave a little wiggle room for any emergency situations that may pop up throughout the day.

First on Deck

Time to head out to our first job of the day. Let’s say it’s a short drive over to Milford to install a new water heater. After gathering all of the necessary tools and parts, we’re off. We get there on time (as always!) and get to work removing the old unit to make room for the new one. As long as we don’t hit any snags along the way, we can usually get the new install completed in a couple of hours. Before we go, we make sure to explain the ins and outs of the new water heater to the homeowners, and are careful to clean-up our tracks!

Handle Emergencies

Most of the day is spent going from job-to-job, from Danbury to Bridgeport, through Greenwich, Monroe and New Canaan, and eventually back to our home base here in Milford. However, there are always a few emergency calls thrown into the mix – but that’s what keeps things exciting! We’re committed to being available to assist our customers 24/7/365, with same day service.
