About Norwalk, CT – Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Norwalk is the sixth largest city in Connecticut with a population of approximately 85,000, according to the 2010 US Census. Most historians believe the city got its name from one of two places; either the Algonquian word “noyank” meaning “point of land”, or from the Algonquian chief himself, Naramauke. For as long as “Norwalkers” can remember, the farming and oyster industries have been of supreme importance to the success of the city. In fact, Norwalk was once nicknamed “Oyster Town”. And every September Norwalk holds its famous Oyster Festival, with participants coming from all over New England to enjoy shucking the oysters.

Many large companies have based their national and international headquarters in the city of Norwalk. There are also many interesting and inspirational attractions in Norwalk, like the Mill Hill Historic Park and Museum, the Sheffield Island Lighthouse, and the Maritime Aquarium.

Norwalk experiences cold and snow in the winter and warmth and humidity in the summer. The seasonal extremes are alleviated by the town′s proximity to Long Island Sound. Daily high temps are cooler in the summer and nightly lows are higher in winter when compared to locations further inland. The maximum average rainfall is during the month of September, although monthly precipitation varies only slightly.
