Redding is a harmonious little town right in the heart of Fairfield County. The town′s history attributes its name to colonist John Read, a prominent landowner, lawyer, and preacher. The town changed the spelling of its name from Reading to Redding to reflect the proper pronunciation. Current residents appreciate the pleasant climate Redding has to offer. Temperatures are similar to Easton, CT; low 80s for the summer and high 20s for the winter.
