Easton is adjacent to the town of Fairfield, and is one of the most rural towns in all of Fairfield County. Even in the densely populated region of the Northeast, Easton remains to be a heavily wooded residential and farming community.Like so many towns in Connecticut, Easton′s climate gives residents and visitors warm sunshine in the summer, snow in the winter, and just enough rain during the springtime showers.
In her later years prior to her death, Helen Keller moved to Easton for its tranquil atmosphere and friendly community. Another interesting fact about Easton is that local individuals supply New York City with extra–large Norway Spruce trees for the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting.
The citizens of Easton consider themselves very lucky because so much of the town′s historical heritage remains intact. The charming rural character of Easton has been attracting residents and vacationers for generations. In 1762, the Connecticut General Assembly granted ″parish″ status to North Fairfield. This parish eventually became the town of Easton.
